District Cafe & Cocktail Bar sits tucked away on Rosalino Street in Port of Spain, offering a relaxed yet lively break from the city’s everyday pace. This spot blends the casual ease of a neighborhood cafe with the intimate buzz of a cocktail bar, making it a versatile hangout whether you’re after a mid-morning coffee or a mellow evening drink.

Despite its modest size, the space is thoughtfully arranged — the decor leans into cozy, warm vibes with an inviting mix of books and quirky touches like a swing bench that doubles as seating. The atmosphere feels unhurried, drawing in locals looking for a quiet corner to work, chat, or just decompress from the outside hustle. The staff’s upbeat energy adds a friendly, personal layer that visitors seem to notice right away, making it feel more like a community spot than just another cafe.

Coffee here gets a lot of attention, with brews that local regulars describe as well-crafted and notably intense. Favorites include the Matcha Latte and Mochaccino, which carry a ripple of depth and earthiness appreciated by those who savor strong, carefully brewed flavors. The menu manages to go beyond coffee with simple yet satisfying dishes — think focaccia loaded with steak and mushrooms or a chicken mushroom pizza — prepared openly behind a small serving station, which adds a casual transparency to the experience. Breakfast options, including omelettes packed with fresh veggies, make for a good start to the day, and the baked goods like moist coconut and carrot cakes have earned repeat visits for their texture and flavor.

Visitors typically arrive during quiet mornings or early evenings, settling into the soft, relaxed lighting that shifts from daylight into a laid-back dusk scene. Its mix of coffee and cocktails means it suits a range of moods: solo visitors looking for a reflective coffee break; friends catching up over a shared plate; or those easing into a slower evening with something stronger. While service is generally friendly and timely, occasional slow orders remind you this is a spot more about quality and vibe than speedy turnover.

Overall, District Cafe & Cocktail Bar is a well-rounded local spot where Port of Spain’s diverse crowd can pause, sip, and reconnect—whether over a punchy caramel latte or a fresh mango refresher.

Fantastic little coffee shop. Small, but the atmosphere and service came with an explosive personality. We did not have any food but the coffee was intense and the hippie vibes much appreciated. Looking forward to visiting again!

A cozy respite from the hustle and bustle right outside! Very comfy place to relax, by yourself or with company. Food was well prepared and presented, and the service was friendly and excellent. Coffee is great and well brewed. Go visit and see for yourself!

I enjoyed the caramel latte; it was quite good. The flavor was a bit earthy for my taste, but nonetheless, it was delicious. The service was friendly and accommodating.

Definitely worth a stop in to try District Cafe & Cocktail bar. Your first step in you'll note the warm vibes and upbeat mood of staff and patrons. Nicely finished decor feels like an evening bar scene with lot of books to sit and sip coffee or cocktail, including a bench that is also a swing. Food prep is open and visible through a small serving station in the back, the rest of dining happens around a centrally located bar that serves drinks, coffee and dessert. Menu is presented on a clipboard which I mistakenly thought was just one page, far from that, they menu is quite extensive with many food and beverage options. District Cafe & Cocktail Bar can be your coffee bar, lunch spot or cocktail haunt, which ever you prefer it is a welcoming and warm respite and good spot to meet up with friends or colleagues.

I came here twice for a breakfast. I ordered a cheese omelette with whatever vegetables they have and it was flavorful. Roasted turkey sandwich was good but the turkey needed some seasoning. Watermelon juice was sweet and so refreshing. The best things were the coconut cake and carrot cake..very moist and full of flavors. Medium- high prices. Nice employees. Some orders come late.
